Jamie McMurray was born June 3, 1976 is an American racing driver. McMurray is best known for winning the 2002 UAW GM Quality 500 as a replacement driver in his second Winston Cup start and win both the Daytona 500 and Brickyard 400 in 2010.
McMurray was born in Joplin, Missouri. McMurray grew up racing go-karts and competed in almost every form of karting across the country before moving to late model stock cars.
McMurray started the 2007 season with crew chief Larry Carter, former from the MWR and Penske Racing and sponsorship from Crown Royal and IRWIN Tools.
McMurray started the 2009 season by winning the final stage of the Budweiser Shootout, but lost the lead to Kevin Harvick on the final lap. McMurray had a superb Speed Weeks, finishing in 9th place his Gatorade Duel.
McMurray won the 2010 Brickyard 400 making him one of only three drivers to win the Daytona 500 and Brickyard in the same year.
